OBJECTIVES

Health and Safety is the number one strategic objective of Dwyer Engineering.  The Dwyer Engineering health and safety policy is endorsed by senior management and reinforces the Company’s commitment to provide a safe and healthy place to work  A copy of our policy statement is appended.

Dwyer Engineering and Construction’s policy is to establish and manage an occupational health and safety system that reflects a sincere desire to provide a safe working environment that is not limited to only compliance with regulations or contract conditions.

We are fully aware of the inherent safety risks in construction and maintenance works and are committed to providing all personnel with the instruction, training, protective equipment, correct tooling and supervision necessary to complete each task safely.

Employees are encouraged to accept responsibility for their own safety and that of their fellow workmates. The development and maintenance of a safe and healthy workplace can only be achieved by those  who work in it. 

Dwyer Engineering and Constructions management system methodology is designed to present a proactive approach to all aspects of our business.  A fundamental aspect to the safety program is an effective communication system which involves the contribution of all personnel on issues pertaining to Occupational, Health and Safety.


OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH AND SAFETY POLICY

Dwyer Engineering and Construction is committed to the provision of a safe and healthy work environment and continuously makes every effort to ensure work is conducted in a manner that eliminates risk of injury to employees, plant and the environment.

Responsibility
Management have the prime responsibility to implement this policy and shall consider and include health and safety requirements into all work activities.

Specifically:

- Develop, implement and maintain a safe working environment and system of work.

- Provide information, instruction, training and supervision of work practices to all employees.

- Provide personal protective equipment to protect employees from risk and/or hazards that cannot be otherwise eliminated or controlled

- Develop, implement and audit procedures to cope with emergencies and accidents and provide appropriate medical and first aid facilities.

- Involve safety committee members, management and health and safety representatives in the development of internal company Health and Safety standards.

- Conduct systematic audits to identify and eliminate, as low as reasonably practicable, any work practices and conditions potentially harmful to employees.

    Outcome
    Dwyer Engineering and Construction will continue to actively monitor all safety programmes and procedures to ensure the statements outlined in this policy are achieved.
